The thatch-roofed lodge, situated at the foot of the Biggarsberg Mountain, some 43 kilometers from Dundee (in KwaZulu-Natal), nestles amongst willow and paperbark trees in the tranquility of a lush, park-like garden. Nxala Ranch is situated in a malaria free area.
Nxala Ranch sleeps eight people and is fully equipped. All rates include linen (also towels), cleaning services and laundry service. Unlimited catch-and-release fishing is also included. Game drives can be arranged. None of the rates include liquor. A bar is available on the premises.
It offers three stylish en-suite bedrooms and one bedroom with it's own bathroom, a lounge equipped with satellite TV and music system, a modern, fully equipped kitchen and a spacious "stoep" (veranda) with braai facilities overlooking the dam which is well stocked with bass. The lodge provide the guests with lovely views across the plain where game and bird life abound.
Guests at Nxala Ranch have a choice of activities, from game viewing, fishing, hiking, viewing of top Brahman, Simbra and Nguni stud cattle to visiting ancient San rock art. For those wishing to visit the historic Anglo South African War Battlefields of Isandlwana, Rorke's Drift and Elandslaagte, Nxala Ranch is perfectly located and guided tours can be organized.

Living Area
The living room is equipped with satellite TV and music system. The main feature though, is the spacious "stoep" (veranda) with braai (barbeque) area where meals can be taken in beautiful surroundings, or whilst watching weaver birds at work. Also try spotting the resident "likkewaan" (leguan) in the dam adjoining the lodge.
Kitchen
A modern, fully equipped kitchen, provides for a comfortable weekend or holiday. Fully catered options are available. Cleaning and laundry services are included in all accommodation options.
  
Attractions- Fishing: Bass abound in the lodge's three stocked dams. Fishing with own, or supplied equipment can be particularly rewarding. (Fishing is only allowed with artificial lures on a catch-and-release basis).
- Hiking: The waterfall, ancient San rock art, herds of antelope and scenic beauty makes hiking particularly rewarding.
- Bird watching: More than 300 species of bird makes Nxala Ranch a bird watcher's paradise.
- Game viewing: Sunset game viewing is an exciting part of your stay at Nxala Ranch. Game drives can be done in your own 4x4 vehicle or, on request, guided drives with our 2 game viewing vehicles (Land Rover Defender and a Unimog for the more adventurous). Nxala Ranch is situated in a 1600 hectare reserve, where the following game can be seen: Kudu, Impala, Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Black Wildebeest, Springbok, Black Springbok, Reebok, Mountain Reedbuck, Gemsbok, Bushbuck, Duiker, Eland, Giraffes, Blesbuck and Ostrich.

DirectionsDirections to Nxala Ranch:
1. From Dundee take the road to Vryheid (R33). Measured from the last robot in Dundee (on the Vryheid Route), it is 5.5 km before the turn-off to Nqutu/Ulundi/Melmoth (R68).
2. Travel on the R68 for 26,5 km until you reach the Rorke's Drift turn-off. Turn right on this gravel road.
3. Continue for 7,4 km until you reach the Rorke's Drift / Dundee T-junction.
4. Continue through the junction slightlyto the right on D571.
5. Follow the Nxala Ranch directions for 6,2 km up to the lodge.
